Pictures from Romania

Seven years ago today (on Feb. 8, 2001), I and 5 other ENC students arrived in Romania to participate in the Romania Studies Program. During the spring 2001 semester, we lived with Romanian families and took classes like Romanian language & culture, environmental science, arts & music, and cross-cultural service learning. We volunteered at Elderly Club and the spital (hospital for abandoned infants), hung out at coffee house on Tuesday night, and took a few trips to nearby places in Romania and Hungary.

The 6 months I spent in Romania were life-changing for me. I made friendships with my fellow students and with the Romanians with whom we interacted each day. My eyes were opened to something bigger than my immediate cultural context, and through this experience, I felt God calling me to cross-cultural missions.

I have just uploaded pictures from the spring 2001 semester.
