The Road to Romania - June Update

Three months from today I will arrive in Bucharest, Romania.

About 2 weeks ago, I began to feel the urgency to get stuff done as I prepare for returning to Romania. I have only 2 months left in the Kansas City area (with 2 of those weeks being spent in Orlando for General Convention & Assembly), before spending a few weeks with family in Pennsylvania.

In the past few weeks, I've made some big purchases, like getting a new digital camera and new suitcases. I've also had pictures taken for renewing my passport, applying for a visa, and for an international driver's permit. I've made a list of things to do before I leave the KC area, and am slowly making my way through that list.

Two weeks ago I met Michael & Tamara Hudson when they were meeting with World Mission Department staff. Michael & Tamara, along with their 3 daughters, were in Romania as missionaries from 2005-2007, and they will be returning to Bucharest in August. Although we've all been to Romania in the past, we've never been there at the same time. We knew of each other, have exchanged emails, and are even Facebook friends, but had never actually met.

The Hudsons and I will be working together on the Romania District Church of the Nazarene. They will be living in Bucharest, focusing on theological training and education, whereas I will be living in Sighisoara, concentrating on lay training. Our assignments will bring us to the other city frequently, so we will have the opportunity to work together as a team.

As you pray for my preparations to return to Romania, please also lift up the Hudsons, as well as the Romanian church leaders and other missionaries in Romania.
