Recent Travels - Bucovina

At the beginning of April, a group of us traveled to Bucovina, a region in northeastern Romania known for its painted Orthodox monasteries. Icons cover the exteriors of the churches at these monasteries. Here are a few pictures:

A closer view of the depiction of the Last Judgment. You can see the saints entering paradise on the lower left and the sinners descending to hell in the sea of fire on lower right.

One of the monasteries is located in a valley surrounded by hills. We climbed the hill for the great view:
