Teaching for EuNC

For the past month, I have been teaching a course through the European Nazarene College (EuNC) Romania Learning Center. The course, called “God’s Mission and the Church,” was offered for those preparing for various types of church ministry.

After covering an introduction to God’s Mission, we looked at how God’s mission begins in the Old Testament, progresses through the New Testament, and is the same mission in which the Church is called to participate throughout the ages. Finally, we looked at our own culture to see how to apply God’s mission in our local context.

There were 13 students, along with a few others who sat in on several of the class sessions. Each of the 3 local churches in Romania were represented. The class had 7 sessions, spread out over 4 weekends in September—3 1/2 hours on Friday evenings and 4 hours on Saturday morning.

This is the first time I have taught a course for EuNC. It was definitely a learning experience for me as well as for the students - but a very positive one for all involved. By God’s grace, I was able to teach the course entirely in Romanian. I look forward to teaching additional EuNC courses in the future.
