Here are a few pictures of events from the past few months.

In early December, the Hudsons (the family serving as Nazarene missionaries in Bucharest) visited Sighisoara. We took a hike to the Breite, a nature reserve in Sighisoara. The oak trees are hundreds of years old. We thought it would be fun to have a group hug around one of these large trees.

The House on the Rock, the building which houses the Veritas administrative offices and is located on the historic square of Sighisoara, is one of very few places that are decorated during the Advent and Christmas seasons with images from the Christmas story. Yes, even here in a country that is supposedly 99% Christian, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and snowmen overshadow Jesus at this time of year.
Between Veritas-sponsored community events, Veritas social service programs, Tigmandru Church of the Nazarene, and Sighisoara Church of the Nazarene, there are plenty of Christmas events during the month of December.

One of my favorite is the annual Candle Walk in Sighisoara. As we walk with lit candles through the historic streets of Sighisoara's citadel, we stop at various locations (city hall, church, school) to sing carols and pray for various aspects of life in Sighisoara.Below is a picture of the children participating in the Christmas performance in the Tigmandru Church:
Christmas is a season when packages are shipped to Romania to be distributed to needy families. This year, the Church of the Nazarene in Germany continued its tradition to send food packages to Romania. Click here to read the story.
