Laszlo Tokes was a Hungarian Reformed pastor at this church. When he refused to relocate, a crowd formed outside the church. Eventually calls of "Down with Ceausescu" were heard. After a few days, the revolution spread to Bucharest and other cities in Romania.

Being near the border with Serbia, there is a small Serbian population in Timișoara.
This is the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The Roman Catholic Church in Timișoara:
The museum on the Romanian Revolution of 1989 recently moved into this building. Although they're not officially opened yet and the building is still being renovated, we were able to get a tour.
