Happy New Year!
Sometimes it can be difficult for those of us in ministry to see progress in what we're doing. Weeks and even months can pass with no quantifiable progress. For the past 3 weeks, Nazarenes from across the Eurasia Region have been praying and fasting for this new year. Already, I am seeing God answering prayers and planting seeds of hope and expectation for what He will do in 2014. I am encouraged that this will not only be a "happy" new year, but that it will be one of growth and progress -- here in Sighisoara, throughout the Romania District, and across the entire Eurasia Region.
An Unexpected Invitation:
Two weeks ago, as I was resuming work on the translation of the Church of the Nazarene Manual into Romanian, I received an email invitation to attend a series of meetings with others from around the world involved in translating the Manual. There had been a cancellation, and I was asked to fill the vacant spot. I ask for your prayers as I travel to Columbia, South Carolina, at the end of next week to take part in these meetings.
While making my flight arrangements, I was able to secure a stopover on the return trip. This will allow me to visit my family for a couple days in Pennsylvania. I will also be sharing a brief update at the York City Campus of the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene on Sunday morning, February 16.
Thank you for giving!
I want to thank those who gave 2013 year-end donations to my Mission Corps fund. This helps me continue to minister here in Romania.
If you didn’t get a chance to give and still want to, you can make tax-deductible contributions online at http://web.nazarene.org/goto/jepjon or follow the giving instructions for sending checks outlined here [http://www.jepjon.com/p/make-donation.html]. If you’re looking to partner with me on a long-term basis, you can set up automatic monthly giving online. Over the past few months, my monthly support has dropped to $0/month, so any amount makes a difference!
Speaking Schedule:
My next fundraising trip to the US will be in August and September. I am currently planning to visit the following Nazarene districts (and I still have openings in each area): Mid-Atlantic, Philadelphia, New England, and Georgia. You can check out my complete schedule here: http://www.jepjon.com/p/speaking-schedule.html. Please contact me if you would like me to share with your church or small group. I look forward to seeing you!
