September Update: Home Assignment

Greetings from York, Pennsylvania. I am back in the U.S. for home assignment. Over the next 3 months, I will be sharing in churches and small groups about what God is doing in and through the Church of the Nazarene in Romania. To view my complete schedule (and see if I'll be in your area) click here.

I ask for your prayers during this time as well. Click here to see specific ways you can be praying for me during this home assignment.

Ministry Highlights
Here are a few ministry highlights that have occurred since my last newsletter:

Nazarene Manual Printed in Romanian: For the past 4 years, you've heard me giving updates on the translation of the Nazarene Manual. This July, the first Romanian edition of the Manual was printed and distributed to pastors and other church leaders. Click here to read more about the process we've been through these past 4 years and the plans we have for starting additional literature projects when I return to Romania.

'Global Classroom' links Arkansas and Romanian high school students: Last school year a high school in Arkansas, USA, partnered with Romanian students through the Sighisoara Church of the Nazarene. Click here to read about this creative technology-based partnership, including plans for this school year.

Find us on Facebook: You may know that I post updates on Facebook (at www.facebook.com/jepjonRomania) but did you also know that there are many Nazarene-related ministries in Romania with Facebook pages? Click here for a complete list of pages you can like.

Romanian Culture
Romania's Royal Family - Romania's Queen Anne died in August at the age of 92. Click here to read a brief historical account about Romania's royal family. (King Michael, now aged 94, reigned during World War II, but was later exiled from Romania by the communists.)

Partnering Together
Printable PDF Newsletter. Click here for a PDF version of my fall newsletter that you can print and distribute to those without internet access.I am distributing this "special edition" newsletter at deputation services.

Raising Funds: One of the major objectives of my home assignment is to raise funds for the next 2 years of ministry. Over the next 3 months, I will be speaking in over 40 church services and small group meetings in 7 states, yet the deputation offerings from these churches will cover only about one-third of my budgeted expenses. If you'd like more information about how you can make a donation to help cover the remainder of my expenses, click here.

Just for Fun
My First Passport: While at my parents' home in Pennsylvania, I found my journal from my first international trip outside North America. It includes an entry about the very complicated process of obtaining my first passport. Click here to read that journal entry. (Apparently Romania isn't the only place where I have to run in circles to get official documents.)

Thank you for partnering with me. If my travels bring me close to your area, I hope to see you!
