Going to Romania

In August, I will be moving to Romania, where I plan to serve for the next 3-5 years as a Mission Corps missionary with the Church of the Nazarene. My responsibilities will include training lay Romanian church leaders and working with them to establish discipleship ministries on the Romania District.

As I begin my new assignment, I invite you to partner with me in the following ways:

Connect. I would like to stay in touch with you and keep you aware of the ministry in Romania . Here are 3 ways you can connect with what is happening in Romania :
  • Read my blog with frequent updates, including pictures.
  • Visit www.jepjon.com to sign up for my monthly e-newsletter list
  • Join my page on Facebook

Pray. Please pray for me as I prepare for ministry in Romania. Pray also for the team of Romanian church leaders and for the many people who are impacted by the ministries in Romania. If you would like to receive a prayer card from me, please email me with your mailing address, and I’ll get one in the mail for you.

Give. As a Mission Corps missionary, it is my responsibility to raise all of my financial support – $25,000 for the first two years in Romania, and $10,000 for each additional year. You can partner with me by sending a one-time gift or pledging an ongoing amount. All contributions are tax-deductible and eligible for 10% missions giving in the Church of the Nazarene. Your gift may be given online at http://web.nazarene.org/goto/jepjon or you can send a check payable to “General Treasurer” with “Jonathan Phillips – Romania – Mission Corps” on the memo line and send to Global Treasury Services, P.O. Box 843116, Kansas City, MO 64184. (I will be automatically notified of your online gift, but it will help if you let me know that you have sent a check so I can monitor my account balance.)

Engage
. Finally, I encourage you to not only support missionaries who travel far from home but to also participate in mission in your own community. Send me an update of what is happening in your life or direct me to your website/blog. I look forward to hearing from you!

Your partner in ministry,

Rev. Jonathan E. Phillips

Please feel free to print or forward my newsletter or post links to my blog for others who may be interested.

Jonathan-
I hope that all is coming together and I am sure that these next couple months will come before you know it. Enjoy every moment (both in preparing and once you arrive). I was looking at a website that someone told me about and saw that they also had stories in Romanian and thought you might want to check it out. The site is www.echothestory.com and it has a lot of Biblical narratives written in Romanian under the download section. Just something I thought might be of help to you. May God's grace and peace be with you always!
