One Year of "Specialized Assignment"

One year ago, I announced that I was transitioning from being a Mission Corps volunteer missionary to a Specialized Assignment missionary. (Click here to view that post.) As part of that announcement, I mentioned that I would need to increase the amount of funds raised each year in order to cover a salary.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how well this would work out. Almost two thirds of my funding had been coming from speaking in local churches in the US. This past year (2015), I was not scheduled to speak in the US. Where would the funds come from? I had to trust God.

I am very pleased to announce that even though I did not speak in any churches in the U.S. in 2015, it was a record-breaking year for donations to my support account! I am grateful to those who have partnered with me on a monthly basis and to those who have given one-time gifts this year. My home church, Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York, PA, has also been very generous, raising over half of my needed financial support this past year! Together, enough was given to cover all of this past year's expenses. God is faithful.

Partnering Together This Next Year...
As I am now beginning my second year as a partner-supported specialized assignment missionary, I'd like to remind you of 3 specific ways you can support me.

First, I ask for your prayer support, mainly that God would work in and through the Church of the Nazarene in Romania. Click here for a list I've compiled of a few specific things you can be praying for.

Second, if you'd like to support me financially, you can click here to do so. Both one-time and recurring giving options are available. Contributions are tax-deductible and qualify for missions giving in the Church of the Nazarene. I am grateful for gifts of all amounts.
Sharing at a church during
my last home assignment

Third, I would love to share with you in person about what God is doing through the Church of the Nazarene in Romania. My home assignment is just 6 months away (September-November of this year) and I'm looking forward to sharing both in traditional missions services and in informal settings with mission-minded supporters. However, I still have several openings in my home assignment schedule.

These are the areas I am currently scheduled to visit:
  • I'll be based out of York, PA during parts of September, October, and November and can easily travel to churches on the Mid-Atlantic, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, & Virginia Districts. Click here to view my availability.
  • North Carolina District Tour: September 18-28. (For more information, contact the N.C. district deputation coordinator directly.)
  • Kansas City area: November 13-20. Click here to view my availability.
  • OPEN & AVAILABLE for a week-long district tour in October. Contact me for more details. [update: Maine District Tour scheduled for Oct. 16-23]
Please feel free to share this information with others.

As always, I am grateful for your continued partnership in fulfilling the mission of making Christlike disciples in Romania!
