“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 - New King James Version)As we studied chapter 3 of Ephesians in our church Bible study last Wednesday, these words (and others from the chapter!) seemed to take on new life. I especially enjoy the NKJV rendering of “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” to refer to the immeasurableness of God’s might. This month I have been blessed in so many ways, and am thankful for the ways in which I see God at work in my life and in the lives of those around me.
As I reflect on this past month in light of this scripture, I am amazed at how God is working in exceedingly abundant ways, far above anything I could ever ask or even think of. Over a year into this ministry assignment, I daily give praise to God for giving me this opportunity to serve Him in ways that I could have never dreamed. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling ministry than what I have right now in Romania. I praise Him for the ways He is working in the lives of believers in the churches in Romania. I praise Him for co-laborers, both Romanian and Western. I praise Him for the increasing ability to communicate with others which allows me to “see” more deeply into their context. I praise Him that, despite some very busy days, there seems to always be time for a few moments to have an unexpected yet deeply meaningful conversation – whether with a Romanian co-laborer, a church member, or a neighbor.
My prayer for you is that you, also, come to experience the exceedingly abundant blessings of God through Christ Jesus. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or could ever imagine, to Him be praise and glory for Who He is and for all that He has done, is doing, and is yet to do. Amen.
