Ministry Highlights

- Farewell Party – Magda Balaban has served in Sighișoara for the past 10 years in several capacities. At the begin
ning of the month, she accepted a job offer at a Christian organization and moved to Bucharest. The Sighișoara Church had a farewell reception for her. Click here to read more about Magda’s ministry in Sighișoara and to view a slideshow.
- Field Leadership Conference – Every year leaders in the Church of the Nazarene from Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Romania, and Slovenia gather for the Southeastern Europe Field Leadership Conference. A large group (of almost 50) from Romania attended. Click here to read more about their thoughts about the trip, as well as to view a slide show.
- Veritas Staff Retreat – This past weekend, I joined the Veritas Staff, Romanian Studies Program students, and other missionaries in Sighișoara for the annual staff retreat. (Click here to read more about the retreat.)
- Language class Update – I’m continuing to meet daily for Romanian language class. There were a few interruptions this month – the field conference, the Romanian Studies Program fall semester break, and the Veritas retreat – but I do feel like I’m learning. It’s hard to believe half of the fall semester is over already. In January, I will be assuming additional ministry responsibilities, so I am trying to learn as much Romanian now as possible.
Life’s Happenings
- I Moved! This past week I moved into an apartment. Before the official move, I spent a few days cleaning, arranging furniture, and buying essential items to use in the apartment. This is the first time in my life I’ve lived completely alone, so it’s pretty exciting for me.

- Connect – Stay connected throughout the month with updates at www.jepjon.com and http://RomaniaNazarene.blogspot.com.
- Pray – I keep an updated list of specific personal and ministry-related prayer requests at my website. Click here to view that list. Thank you for praying!
- Engage – I’ve continued the “Exploring our Mission” series with two additional blog posts. Both describe why mission is central to all that we do in the Church: Holistic Mission and Why Study Mission.

So are you going to post pics of your new home? I know you are a habitual picture taker so you gotta have some.
